EMI takes pride in our sustainability record. By re-refining used transformer oil, EMI reduces carbon emissions by reducing the amount of crude oil needed to fill companies’ demands as well as repurposing oil that otherwise would have been burned. For every 101 gallons that EMI refines, a metric ton of carbon is prevented from entering the atmosphere and, as a member of the Intercontinental Carbon Exchange, generates one carbon credit available for offsetting companies’ carbon impact. By using EMI’s products, you can reduce both your upstream and downstream carbon impact.

- Reducing the amount of waste transformer oil burned as fuel reduces the amount of greenhouse gases released
- Re-refining lessens the amount of new oil being consumed by manufacturers
- Making your product more “green” by utilizing EMI’s EMRO 60HT recycled base oil
EMI’s facility was designed and constructed with the environment in mind. Product storage, loading, and delivery always occur within concrete containment.
EMI only handles non-hazardous transformer oil. Your waste oil is never comingled with any other waste, and never in jeopardy of being taken to a hazardous waste site.
